Junkyards, logging trucks, making the best out of not-so-perfect weather and fire dancing.

Time flies when you are having fun! For reals... The weather has not really cooperated with us, but our photographer is a magician and is making magic. We've made some pretty mundane places into perfect backdrops. We've shot lots and lots of photos, had a huge bonfire and some good old fashioned fire dancing. Spent the day with some really, really, big rocks and saw a very large, yet skinny bear. Fun times had by all.

Here's a collection of some photos from the last few days. Oh and we saw a really big, really skinny bear.

Royal Robbins Adventure | Permits, smerits!

I like to think of myself as a professional cat herder. At the moment I'm dealing with some pretty darned feral ones, the US Forestry Service. The production team has been attempting to get permits for the Sierra Nevada Forest for several weeks. Come to find out there is only one person in all of California that handles public use permits. And she has been non-communicative and now is on vacation. The GM from Southern Yosemite Mountain Guides (SYMG) and I went to the Ranger Station to see if we could make some progress. We met a very helpful Ranger, Henry, he has rattled the supervisor and the supervisor's supervisor chain to see if we could get some movement.

Next stop, a road trip to Clovis with permit application, certificate of insurance and some gumption.

Stay tuned...

Royal Fucking Robbins

In the shadow of the granite domes of Yosemite Valley I find myself with an outdoorsy crew of folks from all over the country. Our mission is to recaptured the essence of the Royal Robbins brand.

Today we'll be all over the valley shooting merchandising shots for the 2014 Spring/Summer line. My first stop, the permitting office with the GM of the Southern Yosemite Mountain Guides. I'm hoping to document the trip here.

This is going to be so fun!
